Wealthtech has been at the leading edge of wealth management for many years, but never more than now. Some days it feels like every conversation about wealth management transitions into a discussion on AI. To stay ahead of the curve, we attended the T3 Technology Conference last week, and it was a pleasure to spend time with so many of you in person. We also bring you conference coverage.
T3’s AI University: Agents, Prospecting And Transformation
The conference began on March 9 with a day of learning and workshops on AI, including how to develop AI agents by Craig Iskowitz of Ezra Group, prospecting with AI agents by Victoria Toli of FINNY AI and AI use cases and avoiding pitfalls by John O’Connell of The Oasis Group.
Our industry is no longer just in the AI era. The agentic AI era is here, and there is much advisors can do to take advantage of these tools.
T3: Advisors As Investment Managers, Operational Excellence And Custodial Change
On the second day of the conference, Robb Baldwin of TradePMR discussed his firm’s purchase by Robinhood and the future of wealth management custody with Joel Bruckenstein of Technology Tools for Today, which produces the conference; Patrick Shaddow of Syntax Data spoke on the shift between investment management and wealth management; and Rich Cancro and Craig Ramsey of AdvisorEngine addressed achieving excellence in operations.
Bruckenstein’s take on AI and the future of wealth management: “The need for advisors will be much greater,” but the structure of firms will change.
T3: AI-Enabled Operational Excellence And CRMs In The Age Of AI
On the third day of the conference, I hosted a panel on “Driving Growth Through AI-Enabled Operational Excellence,” with Rashmi Badwe of TIAA Wealth Management and John O’Connell. Separately, we spoke with Practifi’s Brooke Deese on how AI is changing CRMs.
O’Connell, Badwe and Deese all shared helpful insights for advisors to improve their businesses through AI.

This week’s roundup covers acquisitions by Merit and Creative Planning; NewEdge staking Stonegate; Rise staking Cyndeo; recruiting by Carson, Janney and Raymond James; Luedtke and Associates launching; Snowden Lane partnering with MSCI; and appointments by Cresset and Evolve.
