Avantax Recruits 10 Advisors With $390 Million In Combined Assets

Firm Describes 2024 Recruiting As ‘Robust’

Cetera Holdings-owned Avantax added 10 new independent financial advisors with about $390 million of combined assets under administration (AUA) so far in 2024 as the firm says it recruitment efforts continued to be robust.

The advisors decided to affiliate with Avantax to “help strengthen their ability to offer clients comprehensive tax-intelligent financial services,” according to the firm.

Avantax said it provides advisors with tax-intelligent tools, technology, resources and home office support, the company noted. Advisors can also access peer-to-peer collaboration with other advisor affiliates of the firm.

Advisors and professionals who joined Avantax in 2024 through the date of the press release are:

Ali Kazemi and his Sentinel Financial Group, based near San Francisco, joined Avantax from LPL Financial.

Amy Wright, based near Des Moines, Iowa, joined Avantax after being affiliated with LPL, with her firm that now operates as Wright Financial Solutions.

Joseph Schwan and his Long Island, New York-based Premier Wealth Management, joined Avantax from LPL.

Allan Thompson, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, joined Avantax from Ameriprise Financial.

George Escobar and his Covina, California-based Xavier Consulting, joined Avantax from NEXT Financial Group.

Ken Ulrich and John Ariola, brought their East Amherst, New York-based Progressive Planning Services to Avantax from Lincoln Financial.

Scot Sageser and William Hubbard, along with their Defender Financial Services Group, based near Seattle, joined Avantax from World Equity Group.

Townsend Morris, based in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, joined Avantax from Kestra Financial.

Avantax had $92.8 billion in assets under administration as of Dec. 31, it said.
