Beacon Pointe Advisors said Wednesday that it added veteran advisor and retirement plan specialist Greg Mykytyn as part of the expansion of its retirement planning services in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) market.

Mykytyn has a “deep background as a 3(38) fiduciary” after advising on almost $700 million of retirement assets as a fiduciary and advisor, Beacon Pointe said.

With almost three decades of experience working exclusively with profit-sharing, 401(k) and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), Mykytyn has served as a plan sponsor and plan consultant in both the private and public sectors.

Before joining Beacon Pointe this month, Mykytyn served as Managing Director of Commerce Street Holdings in Dallas for the past year, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President at that firm from April 2016 to April 2024.

Earlier in his career, he worked for Fidelity Investments as Senior Account Associate, Milliman as Client Service Manager, and American National Bank of Texas as Vice President-Employee Benefits, where he led the development of the firm’s 3(16) fiduciary offering and grew the platform to $60 million in assets within three years, Beacon Pointe noted.

Mykytyn also served as Resolutions and Receiverships Specialist for the FDIC. In that role, he oversaw regulatory reporting and compliance tasks included 5,500 filings and annual nondiscrimination testing for failed financial institutions, according to Beacon Pointe.

“Joining Beacon Pointe, I’ll have expanded resources, infrastructure, and tools to provide optimal financial support for clients and their employees,” said Mykytyn. “I’ve worked with Beacon Pointe, Wayne [McCullough], and his colleagues for a number of years, and I’m thrilled about this opportunity to formally join the Beacon Pointe advisory team.”

Mykytyn is bringing his “vast industry knowledge” to Beacon Pointe “locally in Dallas, as well as to the broader company,” according to Wayne McCullough, Partner and Managing Director of Beacon Pointe.

Mykytyn’s knowledge of the 401(k), ESOP and profit-sharing plan world is “unmatched,” said McCullough. “We have partnered with Greg on the majority of our retirement plans over the past 11 years, and he always brings insight, intelligence, and enthusiasm.”

“Very few people in our industry have 27 years of experience in the business retirement services niche,” McCullough continued. “Most importantly, Greg is a man of integrity and is a perfect fit for the unique and strong culture that is Beacon Pointe Advisors.”

Beacon Pointe also recently added Gregg Cowan as Director of Retirement Plan Services as part of its efforts to expand and further refine its retirement plan consulting services, the firm pointed out.

Looking ahead, a Beacon Pointe spokesperson told WSR: “Serving business owners and executives – and their company retirement plans supporting plan participants – is a growing niche of Beacon Pointe. We are actively engaged in conversations with multiple RIA firms looking to join Beacon Pointe in the coming months to help them better serve and grow this area of their business by tapping into Beacon Pointe’s robust platform of specialized teams and resources dedicated to retirement plan services.”

Mykytyn’s addition to the Beacon Pointe team represents a “natural extension of the comprehensive wealth management services we provide to business owners and executives,” according to Matt Cooper, President of Beacon Pointe.

“Having Greg’s expertise on the ground in DFW serving the complex needs of the retirement plan sponsor as well as the employee contributor, allows Beacon Pointe to help more Texas businesses optimize their qualified retirement plans for all,” Cooper said.
