Torrance, California-based EP Wealth Advisors announced Tuesday that it expanded its presence in the Midwest while entering the Greater Cincinnati market with the acquisition of AlphaMark Advisors, an RIA in Fort Wright, Kentucky.

The deal, which adds about $385 million in assets under management (AUM), is the latest step in EP Wealth’s national expansion and marks its fourth acquisition of 2025, following its recently announced deals with Peninsula Wealth in San Francisco early this month, The Holben Group of Denver in March, and Criterion Capital Advisors in Nashville, Tennessee, in February.

EP Wealth’s Midwest footprint includes five other offices in Illinois and Michigan. The RIA has over 49 offices across 16 states and managed more than $31 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, it said.

Founded in 1999 by Partner Michael Simon, AlphaMark specializes in retirement planning, small business services and helping clients navigate financial aspects of major life transitions, including divorce.

One of AlphaMark’s “defining strengths” is its Women & Wealth initiative, started by Partner Kelly Owens, that EP Wealth says was “designed to empower women navigating financial decisions during major life changes.”

That program “highlights AlphaMark’s commitment to supporting clients in a unique way in its market, and it aligns closely with EP Wealth’s commitment to holistic planning and personalized service across all client segments,” according to EP Wealth.

“At EP Wealth, we’re committed to providing personalized advice to our clients that meets them where they are in their lives,” said Ryan Parker, the firm’s CEO.

“Partnering with the AlphaMark team expands our ability to do that in Kentucky and Ohio—enhancing their established expertise with additional resources from a nationwide firm to better support existing and new clients,” Parker added.

As part of the deal, Simon and Owens joined EP Wealth as Regional Directors and Partners. Three other AlphaMark team members also joined: Drew Becker as Portfolio Manager and Partner, Beth Weber as Client Relationship Manager and Michelle McCafferty as Client Relationship Associate, according to the firm’s website.

“Joining EP Wealth allows us to continue doing what we do best—offering thoughtful, individualized advice—while gaining access to a deeper bench of resources to support our clients’ evolving needs,” according to Simon. “We believe this partnership can strengthen our ability to guide clients through major transitions and deliver even more value across their full financial picture.”

The acquisition closed on April 11 and “AlphaMark dropped its name when the deal closed,” an EP spokesperson told WSR.

Houlihan Lokey acted as the exclusive financial advisor to AlphaMark.
