Waltham, Massachusetts-based RIA Integrated Partners, with more than $20 billion in assets under advisement (AUA), announced Wednesday that San Diego-based RetirementDNA, with over $1 billion in assets under management (AUM), became the latest team to join the Integrated advisor network.

As part of the deal, which closed on Jan. 2, RetirementDNA joined Integrated’s advisor network as an affiliate partner, Integrated told WSR.

The partnership will significantly expand each firm’s capabilities in retirement plan services and wealth management, Integrated said.

Explaining in a news release why RetirementDNA was attractive to it, Integrated said the San Diego firm “established a strong reputation as a top-tier advisory delivering retirement and executive benefit plans, personalized worksite financial wellness counseling for employers and employees as well as private wealth management services.”

The RetirementDNA team’s “dedication to client-focused independence led them to partner with Integrated Partners in efforts to grow their presence in the private wealth space,” Integrated noted.

Offering clients a combination of California- and Hawaii-based advisors, RetirementDNA provides advisory services to more than 250 companies, including startups and publicly traded firms, according to Integrated.

“This partnership represents a natural evolution for both organizations.”

“This partnership represents a natural evolution for both organizations,” said Robert Sandrew, Chief Growth Officer at Integrated.

“With the combination of our wealth management infrastructure and RetirementDNA’s deep expertise in retirement plan services, we’re creating a more robust platform to better serve clients nationwide, with a particular focus on the West Coast,” according to Sandrew.

Integrated, meanwhile, “strengthens RetirementDNA’s ability to serve C-suite executives and other clients who need institutional-grade advisory services,” Integrated said.

The RetirementDNA team is led by Managing Partners Daniel Dubois and Shawna Christiansen.

Joining the Integrated network will provide RetirementDNA advisors with access to support solutions and also create new opportunities through Integrated’s CPA alliance program, according to Integrated.

Similarly, RetirementDNA will expand access to corporate-sponsored retirement plan services to better support Integrated-affiliated advisors, who will now have the ability to offer clients a comprehensive variety of services, Integrated said.

“We’re proud that so many of our retirement plan sponsor clients, their employees – including their C-suite executives, have come to know us as an unbiased resource to address a myriad of financial questions and objectives,” according to Dubois.

“Integrated Partners’ resources and knowledge base perfectly complement our institutional retirement plan expertise, allowing us to better serve our clients’ comprehensive financial needs,” Dubois said.

Dubois and Sandrew have “known each other for quite some time having moved in the same circles, and being in each other’s networks [and] the conversation developed organically between them as RetirementDNA sought more access to the wealth management space as a whole and saw the opportunities that referrals from Integrated’s CPA Alliance was affording advisors on the platform,” Sandrew sold WSR.

He added, “From Integrated’s point of view they saw it as a fortuitous opportunity to tap into Dan and his team’s depth of expertise on the retirement side of things.”

Integrated was founded in 1996, and its network includes over 216 advisors, more than 200 CPAs and 116 regional offices across the U.S.

In November, Integrated said it launched a new affiliate partner, Boston-based Generation Capital Advisors (GCA). GCA provides wealth management services including tax, estate and investment strategies for wealthy families and business owners. It will access The Integrated CPA Alliance program while aiming to attract new clients and move upmarket.

In July, Integrated and estate planning platform wealth.com.

said they entered into a strategic partnership giving Integrated advisors access to next-generation estate planning tools and allowing for an even more holistic view of clients’ increasingly complex financial lives.
