Record-setting M&A: Berkshire Global Advisors’ 2024 Wealth Management M&A Report says that 2024 set records for wealth management M&A, and predicts that strength will continue in 2025. The report was authored by the firm’s wealth management team, led by Partner Bomy Hagopian.
Preventing regulatory problems: In this month’s Regtech Surge column, Sid Yenamandra, Founder and CEO of Surge Ventures, explains the five top compliance failures of smaller advisory firms and how to mitigate the risk.
Marketing mismatch: There is a “mismatch” between financial advisors’ marketing tactics and consumer preferences as firms continue to underuse digital marketing to find new clients while relying too heavily on referrals, according to a new Ficomm Partners research study. Meg Carpenter, Ficomm CEO and Co-Founder, provided comments.
New CIO: Coldstream named Bryan Shipley its Chief Investment Officer. Prior CIO Howard Coleman will now oversee the firm’s growing fund management business, and continue as Chief Legal Counsel.
Wealth transfer to women: Women are expected to receive much of the $124 trillion in wealth that is projected to changes hands through 2048, according to a new Cerulli report. Chayce Horton, Senior Analyst at Cerulli, provided comments.
Marketing estate planning tools: Wealth.com appointed former Nitrogen executive Dan Bolton as Head of Marketing, and announced an annual conference and nationwide tour. Bolton and CEO and Co-Founder Rafael Lourerio commented.
