Orion on Tuesday announced an expanded integration with iCapital that Orion said will provide independent advisors with streamlined, single sign-on (SSO) access to alternative investments.

Enhancements will allow advisors to “deliver tailored, high-value portfolios that meet the evolving demands of today’s investors,” Orion said in a news release.

The expanded technology integration, developed as part of Orion’s Premier Partnership Program, will enable advisors to jump from Orion’s platform into the iCapital Marketplace without disrupting workflow, Orion said.

The partnership will provide unified reporting, with automated data transmission from iCapital to Orion allowing advisors to show alternative and traditional assets side-by-side in client reports.

The enhanced collaboration features have already been in use by independent advisors within the Orion ecosystem, Orion pointed out.

Orion’s 2025 Investor Survey revealed a “gap,” that only 23% of investors report having access to alts through their advisors.

The enhanced Orion-iCapital partnership “bridges that gap, and is empowering independent advisors to confidently incorporate alternative investments into client portfolios,” according to Orion.

“This deepened collaboration with iCapital simplifies the complexities of alternative investments, enabling advisors to build more diversified, goal-aligned portfolios,” Todd Bertucci, Executive Vice President at Orion Advisor Technology, said in the release.

“As demand for alternatives surges, this integration ensures independent advisors can deliver the sophisticated solutions investors seek, strengthening their ability to drive financial success.”

With the enhanced integration, Orion said, advisors are now leveraging: educational resources on alternative investments; search and filtering for private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets and model portfolios; research and due diligence tools for individual offerings; workflows to initiate and manage investments; and interactive dashboards for comprehensive fund lifecycle management.

“Our enhanced integration with Orion illustrates our commitment to helping advisors better serve clients through easier access to alternative investments,” according to Steve Houston, Managing Director and Co-Head of iCapital Solutions.

“With single sign-on to the iCapital Marketplace, unified reporting, and a full suite of tools, advisors can manage the investment lifecycle with greater efficiency and insight.”

Orion serviced $4.7 trillion in assets under administration (AUA) and $98.6 billion of wealth management platform assets as of March 31, and the firm supports more than 7.3 million technology accounts and thousands of independent advisory firms, it said.
