Akron, Ohio-based Sequoia Financial Group announced Tuesday that it acquired BSW Wealth Partners, a Colorado-based RIA managing about $2.3 billion in client assets as of June 30.

The deal closed on Monday, a Sequoia Financial spokesperson told Wealth Solutions Report.

BSW was founded in 1992 and serves a national client base from one office each in Boulder and Denver.

The RIA has 25 team members and 19 of them joined Sequoia Financial as employees, while six are “serving as independent contractors to support the transition,” the spokesperson said. It provides financial planning and customized wealth management to individual investors and families.

Prior to the transaction, Sequoia Financial had one office in Denver, the spokesperson pointed out.

As a result of the acquisition, BSW clients have access to Sequoia Financial’s specialists in tax, estate and special needs financial planning; family office services; and investment platform, Sequoia Financial said.

BSW will drop its name and operate under the Sequoia Financial brand. That “process will begin this month,” the spokesperson noted.

“We highly value the bonds BSW has built with clients over the decades and the culture of its talented team,” Tom Haught, CEO and Chairman of Sequoia Financial, said in a press release.

He added, “We are pleased to welcome them to the Sequoia Financial family as we expand our presence in Colorado.”

David Wolf, CEO, BSW Wealth Partners

David Wolf, CEO of BSW, is joining Sequoia Financial and “will remain active in client service and help guide the integration of the two firms,” the spokesperson told WSR.

“The incredible alignment of BSW’s ethos to Make Life Better and Sequoia’s vision of Enriching Lives also extended across our firms’ cultures, clients, and capabilities,” David Wolf, CEO of BSW, said in the press release.

He added, “United, we can better serve families for generations, create exciting career opportunities for our team, and broaden our impact in Boulder, Denver, and throughout the Mountain West.”

Warner Norcross + Judd served as BSW’s legal advisor and Hue Partners provided BSW with consulting and strategic guidance, Sequoia Financial said.

“This is Sequoia Financial’s second RIA deal in 2026,” following its purchase of All Star Financial, the spokesperson told WSR. The acquisition of that Twin Cities-based wealth manager, with $1.3 billion in assets under management (AUM) and assets under advisement as of June 30, was announced in August.

The firm’s strategy is to grow “through a combination of organic business development and selective acquisitions centered on cultural alignment and long-term strategic fit,” the spokesperson said.

Sequoia Financial acquired three firms in 2025: Carlson Capital Management, The Martin Worley Group and Sterling Financial Group, according to the spokesperson.

Since 2023, Sequoia Financial also acquired Zeke Capital Advisors, Cirrus Wealth Management, Affinia Financial Group, M Capital AdvisorsAltruVistaKarpas Strategies, Family Asset Management and Eide Bailly Wealth.

Sequoia Financial now supports about 11,000 client households from 43 offices, with clients in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to the firm. The firm had $34.9 billion in AUM as of June 30, it said.
