CAPTRUST Financial Advisors on Thursday announced that it acquired Pacific Sage Partners (PSP), an Edmonds, Washington-based RIA that advises on about $1.1 billion in client assets. The transaction closed on Sept. 30, a CAPTRUST spokesperson told Wealth Solutions Report.
PSP’s eight-person team, which includes three advisors, is led by Mark Anderson, its Founder and CEO, the spokesperson said.
CAPTRUST already has offices in Wenatchee and Bellevue, Washington, with a total of 14 employees, including 10 advisors, between the locations, it said. Following the acquisition, CAPTRUST has more than 2,020 employees, including over 870 advisors, the spokesperson told WSR.
“Pacific Sage is now CAPTRUST,” the spokesperson said. “The Pacific Sage Partners name will not continue as a separate brand, and the team will operate under the CAPTRUST brand going forward.”
“Everyone we met at CAPTRUST was welcoming, genuine, and deeply committed to helping clients succeed,” Anderson said in a press release. “That felt familiar because we’ve worked hard to build the same kind of team at Pacific Sage Partners. CAPTRUST also gives us the resources and support to spend less time on the operational side of running a business and more time focused on helping clients navigate important financial decisions. That’s what made this opportunity so compelling.”

“Pacific Sage Partners is an important addition to our growing presence in the Pacific Northwest,” Mike Wunderli, Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at CAPTRUST, said in the press release. “Mark and his team have built an impressive business with deep client relationships and a strong reputation in the region. Bringing them to CAPTRUST expands our ability to serve wealth management clients in Washington and creates new opportunities for continued growth in the market.”
After announcing three M&A deals in 2025, CAPTRUST has announced 10 deals so far in 2026, the spokesperson said.
“We’ve had a very strong year for M&A at CAPTRUST, and we believe there’s still tremendous opportunity ahead for the remainder of this year and in 2027,” Wunderli told WSR by email. “We’ll continue to be very active in the market, but remain disciplined about finding the right teams that align with CAPTRUST’s values and can contribute to our long-term growth and success.”
Wunderli added, “We see meaningful opportunity to expand our presence in the West, but ultimately, we’re less focused on geography than we are on finding the right firms and the right fit for CAPTRUST. Over time, our goal is to build markets where all three of our business lines have a strong presence, creating more opportunities to serve clients and grow across the firm. We’ll continue to pursue opportunities that move us in that direction, but we don’t have a specific timetable for entering any one market.”
Carolyn Armitage of Wealth Management Consulting served as PSP’s fiduciary advisor on the deal. Carr Butterfield served as legal counsel, according to CAPTRUST.
CAPTRUST had more than $1.3 trillion in combined assets under management and assets under advisement as of Thursday, the spokesperson said.
