Omaha, Nebraska-based Carson Group acquired Fairmont, Minnesota-based Sweet Financial Partners, a 12-person team that has $1 billion in client assets and is Carson’s second largest deal so far.
Managing Partner and Wealth Advisor Bryan Sweet launched the firm in 1987. Sweet has 45 years of industry experience, including 32 years as an advisor affiliated with Raymond James. He has been a long-term member of the Carson Coaching platform, which aims to help advisors and their firms learn how to accelerate growth.
“Our team is excited to join forces with Carson Wealth,” Sweet said. “This collaboration allows us to maintain our local focus while tapping into the resources of a national brand. It’s a natural progression that aligns perfectly with our culture of inspiring clients to realize their dreams are possible.”
Wise Rhino Group advised Sweet Financial Partners on the transaction. As a result of the deal, the firm and its clients will have access to experts in Carson’s Investments, Research and Financial Planning teams.
Sweet Financial Partners provides financial planning, retirement planning, tax efficiency, wealth transfer and business exit planning. It utilizes a proprietary process called The Dream Architect, which seeks to help clients with their purpose, legacy, health and experiences.
“This acquisition not only strengthens our presence in the Midwest but also brings a team with a proven track record of success and a commitment to client service that aligns perfectly with our mission,” said Michael Belluomini, SVP of Mergers and Acquisition at Carson Group.

Carson Group manages approximately $38 billion in assets. It serves more than 50,000 families across an advisory network of over 150 partner offices, including more than 50 Carson Wealth locations.
“Bryan and his team exemplify the values and client-centric approach that Carson stands for,” said Burt White, CEO of Carson Group. “Their expertise in comprehensive financial planning and commitment to a ‘life well lived’ mentality make them an ideal addition to our advisor community.”
In September, Carson Wealth expanded its Montana presence through a strategic partnership with Billings-based True North Financial, now branded as Carson Wealth | True North Financial. It is Carson’s second Billings location. The six-person team oversees more than $400 million in assets.
In August, Carson Group brought on Amarillo, Texas-based Shane Hall Financial to its advisory network. The firm manages $169 million in assets and provides retirement income planning and comprehensive financial planning.
