Feathery Cuts Sequoia’s Custodian Account Opening Time By 45%

San Francisco-based Feathery, which provides an AI data intake and workflow automation platform for wealth management, announced that Sequoia Financial Group cut custodial account opening time by 45% after implementing Feathery’s onboarding and workflow platform. Sequoia is an RIA with $32 billion in assets as of March 31.

According to a news release by Feathery, Sequoia also reduced Not-In-Good-Order (NIGO) submissions.

“In wealth management, the onboarding experience sets the tone for the entire client relationship,” saidRyan Mahoney, Vice President, Business Systemsat Sequoia Financial. “Feathery helped us transform what used to be a heavily manual process into a seamless, scalable digital experience.”

According to Feathery, RIA onboarding is often hindered by legacy systems with manual paperwork, duplicate data entry and account opening delays. Feathery aims to solve this with streamlined digital workflows.

“Financial advisors and advisor operations support teams should be spending their time strengthening client relationships, not chasing paperwork or correcting avoidable errors,” saidChris Mills, Head of Wealth Solutionsat Feathery. “Our goal with Sequoia was to help create a more intuitive onboarding experience that reduces operational friction and allows teams to scale more efficiently.”

Feathery’s workflows and user interfaces were placed in Sequoia’s advisor interface in Salesforce, allowing the advisors to onboard clients using the same systems that they have been using.

Feathery’s platform was designed to enable advisors and operations teams to automate M&A, transitions, client onboarding, account opening and maintenance workflows across their technology stacks. The firm’s goal is to help firms reduce manual work, improve data accuracy and accelerate time to account funding.
