Guide To Industry Conferences: Asset Management
Published:

Wealth management professionals can choose from a long list of conferences. Few, however, have the time or budget to attend every useful event.

WSR’s Guide To Industry Conferences series helps you choose which conferences to attend by providing you with the dates, locations, prices, speakers, sponsors, continuing education opportunities and other distinguishing features. Other installments in this series cover wealthtech; custodians; insurance; compliance, governance and regulatory matters; and M&A conferences.

This asset management installment covers the MMI Annual Conference, Investments & Wealth Experience and Morningstar Investment Conference. The three events approach investment management from different perspectives, ranging from industrywide product and distribution trends to advanced advisor education and portfolio construction.

MMI Annual Conference

The Money Management Institute (MMI) will hold its 2026 MMI Annual Conference from Oct. 7 to 9 at The Westin Boston Seaport District in Boston. The event is expected to draw more than 600 senior leaders.

Its program will address forces reshaping the advisory business, including technology, client expectations, platform economics, regulation and talent. MMI says the event will combine keynote presentations, specialized tracks, collaborative discussions and networking. Patty Quinn McAuley, SVP and Head of Marketing at Clark Capital Management Group, and Kyle Thompson, SVP and Strategic Relationships Manager at Voya Investment Management, are serving as conference co-chairs.

Last year, retired four-star U.S. Army General Stanley McChrystal, a former commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, delivered a keynote on organizational adaptability. Other sessions examined wealth platform evolution, AI-assisted distribution, model portfolios, advisor-managed accounts, ETFs and private markets. Tracks addressed product development, retirement and tax management, distribution and wealth management platforms.

An opening reception took place at Washington’s International Spy Museum. Last year’s event was approved for 10 hours of continuing education credit for the CIMA, CPWA, CIMC and RMA certifications. The 2026 program has been submitted for credit for the same designations.

Registration through Sept. 12 costs $2,545 for members and $3,245 for nonmembers. Investments & Wealth Experience

The Investments & Wealth Institute (IWI) will host its Investments & Wealth Experience Nov. 16 and 17 at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The conference is designed for CIMA, CPWA and RMA professionals, although nonmembers may attend.
