Our latest Guide to Industry Conferences: Custodian edition brings you the information you need to know about the leading custodian conferences: Pershing INSITE and Schwab Impact. These conferences attract thousands of people throughout the wealth management industry. They also focus on topics of interest to all RIAs, including technology, growth and client service.

There are at least 10 other custodians serving the independent financial advisor space. These include TradePMR, Altruist and its Shareholders Service Group (SSG) subsidiary, APEX Clearing, Axos Advisor Services, Innovayte, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs Advisor Solutions, Interactive Brokers, LPL Financial’s custody platform for RIAs, and the Wells Fargo affiliate First Clearing.

While some of these host conferences, Pershing INSITE and Schwab Impact remain the most prominent. This guide brings you information on venues, speakers, topics, attendees, sponsors and more, so you can make informed choices on the conferences you attend.

Pershing INSITE

BNY Pershing, the custodial and technology solutions subsidiary of the Bank of New York Mellon, is hosting the 27th annual Pershing INSITE conference June 3-5 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Over 2,100 wealth management professionals are expected to attend over 80 sessions. Registration currently costs $799 for attendees and $299 for one additional adult guest who is not employed at the same company.

Among the topics the conference will explore this year include how to blend alternative assets with a traditional portfolio; exploring the secondary market for private equity; building sustainable growth; cybersecurity; and multiple use cases for AI.

Schwab IMPACT

Charles Schwab will host its 2025 Schwab IMPACT conference from Nov. 4-6 in Denver.

IMPACT is targeted at independent RIAs and independent recordkeeper clients of Schwab. Attending firms range from solo practitioners to RIAs with up to 35 employees. Assets under management of attendee firms range from below $25 million to over $5 billion.

“RIAs attend this conference to learn new concepts and techniques, to help manage and grow their business by attending a variety of education sessions, and to network with peers,” according to the event website. “Session topics include practice management strategies, compliance and regulatory issues, investment strategies, financial-planning tools, and technology solutions.”

According to Rick Wurster, President and CEO of Schwab, over 2,000 of Schwab’s RIA clients gathered with Schwab’s employees and partner firms at last year’s event.
