Apex Fintech Solutions and FusionIQ announced a collaboration to combine clearing, custody and digital wealth capabilities for financial institutions.
As part of the cooperation, mutual clients will be able to pair Apex’s brokerage, custody and clearing capabilities with FusionIQ’s platform, including digital advice, self-directed investing, digital model marketplace and TAMP capabilities, within a single technology stack, the firms said.
The combined offering was designed to simplify integration and speed deployment for banks, broker-dealers, credit unions, RIAs and other institutions seeking to modernize their wealth management and investing offerings, according to Apex and FusionIQ.
“For firms to keep pace with today’s investors, they need backend systems that are fast, flexible, and secure,” Bill Capuzzi, CEO of Apex, said in a press release.
Capuzzi added, “Our alliance with FusionIQ gives financial institutions a clearer path to launch, scale, and innovate, so they can spend less time on integration and more time delivering the digital-first experiences their clients expect.”
“Our alliance with FusionIQ gives financial institutions a clearer path to launch, scale, and innovate, so they can spend less time on integration and more time delivering the digital-first experiences their clients expect.” — Bill Capuzzi, CEO, Apex Fintech Solutions
“This is the first formal collaboration between Apex Fintech Solutions and FusionIQ,” Capuzzi told Wealth Solutions Report by email. “The collaboration came about organically after we were brought together by a mutual client. It’s a great example of how we listen to the needs of the market and respond. This has been in the works for the past several months.”
“While not a broad-based request” by customers, “the need became clear when a mutual client was looking to leverage FusionIQ’s front-end platform with Apex’s back-end custody and clearing,” he said.
“We saw an opportunity to remove friction and create a more seamless, integrated solution that would benefit not just one client, but any financial institution looking to do the same,” Capuzzi added.
“The combined offering is available to mutual clients starting today,” he told WSR.
The response to the collaboration “has been positive,” he noted. “We believe this collaboration addresses a key need in the market.”
The timing of the collaboration was “driven by the growing demand from financial institutions to modernize their wealth management offerings,” Capuzzi said. “Many firms are held back by legacy technology.” By teaming up, the firms are “removing the integration hurdles that have traditionally slowed down innovation.”
He added, “This collaboration is designed for banks, credit unions, registered investment advisors (RIAs), and broker-dealers that want to launch or scale modern investing experiences. The goal is to give them a faster, more integrated path to offer digital advice, self-directed investing, and other digital wealth solutions without the heavy lift of a complex, from-scratch integration.”

“Our platform gives institutions the flexibility to deploy digital wealth solutions on their terms,” Eric Noll, CEO of FusionIQ, said in the press release.
“By combining our platform with Apex’s proven infrastructure, we’re removing friction from the integration process and empowering our mutual clients to move faster — whether they’re launching a new digital advice offering or scaling an existing wealth management program.”
Apex now serves more than 200 clients, including broker-dealers, RIAs and fintech firms, according to the firm.
