Denver-based Mercer Advisors on Thursday announced the acquisition of Fifteenth, a San Francisco-based tax and accounting specialist whose proprietary AI platform was designed for high-complexity tax work.

The transaction already closed, a Mercer Advisors spokesperson told Wealth Solutions Report.

Mercer Advisors said Fifteenth’s tax professionals and software would support clients with annual tax preparation and year-round planning, including stock option exercises, tender offers, liquidity events and multi-entity filings.

Fifteenth serves employees of Silicon Valley technology companies, according to Mercer Advisors.

Mercer Advisors said Fifteenth’s technology and tax professionals would expand its existing tax planning and preparation capabilities.

Daniel Gourvitch, President of Mercer Advisors, said in the release that Fifteenth combines “sophisticated tax support with AI-driven solutions for tax professionals.”

More than half of Mercer Advisors’ incoming ultra-high net worth clients seek tax services as part of their wealth management relationship, according to the RIA.

Tax professionals account for about one in 10 of its employees, a share the firm expects to reach one in eight by the end of this year.

Mercer Advisors said Fifteenth’s equity compensation specialty would help it work with clients on tax strategies before a sale, initial public offering or other liquidity event.

Cynthia Loh, Chief Platform Officer, Mercer Advisors

“What sets Fifteenth apart is that their AI capabilities aren’t theoretical,” Cynthia Loh, Chief Platform Officer of Mercer Advisors, said in the press release. “They’ve been built and refined through supporting thousands of returns, real numbers that made us excited about bringing their time-tested technology into our organization.”

“As we integrate their tools alongside our existing tax infrastructure, we expect to meaningfully expand the capacity of our tax teams while continuing to deliver the high level of expertise and service our clients expect.”

“Fifteenth combines personalized, high-touch service with the power of modern software, and we are excited to bring our specialized tools that are already serving more than 1,000 professionals to more families through our partnership with Mercer Advisors,” Ankur Dahiya, CEO and Co-Founder of Fifteenth, said in the press release.

Dahiya and Laura Moreno, Fifteenth’s Chief Tax Officer and Co-Founder, are remaining with Mercer Advisors after the acquisition, the spokesperson told WSR.

In July, Mercer Advisors announced the second generation of Aspen, its AI-enabled platform used by its wealth advisory teams.

M&A Growth

Mercer Advisors has announced six acquisitions so far in 2026, the spokesperson said.

The firm announced its acquisitions of Long Run Wealth Advisors, based in Lake Placid, New York, and Poterack Capital Advisory in January. Those transactions closed Dec. 31, a company spokesperson told WSR at the time.

Mercer Global Advisors has $114 billion in client assets, according to Thursday’s announcement.
