RFG Advisory on Wednesday announced that WFA and Volare Wealth Advisors had merged to form WFA Volare, a wealth management firm managing over $750 million in client assets.
Both firms had operated within the RFG community for several years, RFG said.
WFA Volare has a 16-person team serving several markets. RFG said the combined firm builds on WFA’s nearly 30-year history in Louisiana and Volare’s origins as a female-founded firm while retaining existing advisor relationships and local leadership.
The team includes nine advisors: three from Volare, five from WFA and one who joined the firm on Sept. 1, according to Chris Wedell, Partner and Wealth Advisor at WFA Volare.
“The merger was officially agreed upon on December 31, 2025, and after months of hard work to ensure a seamless experience for all of our clients and advisors,” Wedell told WSR by email, adding that the announcement signaled its completion.
Wedell said she and fellow WFA Volare Partners and Wealth Advisors Dany Martin and Chase Crump had “floated the idea of joining forces many times since we met in 2018.”
“The conversation turned serious last year, though, as the timing seemed just right,” she added.
The leadership of WFA and Volare are remaining with the merged firm, Wedell said.

WFA Volare is headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana, “but we are maintaining all existing offices,” Wedell noted. The merged firm also has offices in Creve Coeur, Missouri; Vestavia Hills, Alabama; and New Roads, Louisiana, she added.
RFG’s supporting role in the merger “included serving as the operating partner supporting WFA and Volare as they brought their businesses together,” an RFG spokesperson told WSR. “That included facilitating the integration of the two teams and their CSAs (client service associates), integrating data, and providing the operational and platform support needed to bring the combined firm together.”
Shannon Spotswood, CEO of RFG Advisory, said, “Our role is to give Advisors the freedom and resources to build a stronger business while protecting what matters most to them and their clients.”
WFA Volare recently added Matthew Johnson as Wealth Advisor, and he leads its New Roads office, RFG said.
The combined WFA Volare team serves retirees, high-earning professionals, women navigating financial transitions and athletes and their families, RFG said. The team includes Brandon Wilson, a former National Football League athlete. RFG said his background is relevant to the firm’s work with professional and collegiate athletes.

“This was never about getting bigger. It was about getting better for our clients,” Martin said in the press release. “Chris and her team share the same values we do, and bringing our firms together allows us to preserve the relationships clients value while creating more opportunities to collaborate and serve them together.”
RFG said the merger continues Volare’s focus on women and families and brings together women advisors from several markets.
RFG’s StrongHer Money program also supports advisors serving women, the firm said.
“Being a female-founded firm has always been an important part of who we are and how we’ve built Volare,” Wedell said in the release. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to build on that foundation by expanding our ability to serve women and families through every stage of their financial lives.”
RFG surpassed $1.5 billion in recruited client assets during the first half of 2026, which it said represented the strongest recruiting period in firm history.
